How peptides work

The basics, in plain language.

What is a peptide?: A peptide is a short chain of amino acids — the same building blocks that make up proteins, just far shorter. Because they are short and specific, researchers use them to study how a single signal or receptor behaves.
Why are peptides studied so widely?: Each peptide tends to act on a narrow target, so a study can isolate one pathway at a time. That is why published research covers areas as different as metabolism, tissue repair, pigmentation and cognition.
Is every compound here backed by human trials?: No, and we say so on each listing. Some compounds have large published human trials, others have only animal or cell data. Each compound page shows what the research actually reports, and where no human data exists it states that plainly.
What does research-grade mean?: It means the material is supplied for laboratory research only. It is not a drug, food, cosmetic or medical device, and it is not supplied for human or veterinary use.

Every vial ships dry, so it has to be mixed before use in the lab.

Why is the vial empty?: It is not empty — it holds a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder, which can look like a thin film or a few crystals at the bottom. Freeze-drying is what keeps the material stable in transit.
What do I need to reconstitute it?: Bacteriostatic water, which we stock separately under Supplies. Add it slowly down the side of the vial rather than directly onto the powder, and let it dissolve on its own instead of shaking.
How is concentration calculated?: Concentration is simply the amount in the vial divided by the volume of water added. A 10mg vial mixed with 2ml of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg per ml. We publish the amount per vial on every listing so the arithmetic is yours to control.
Do you provide dosing guidance?: No. These compounds are supplied for laboratory research only, so we do not provide dosing protocols, schedules or usage instructions of any kind. Study design is the researcher's responsibility.
How should vials be stored?: Sealed, dry vials keep best cold and away from light. Once reconstituted, material is far less stable and should be kept refrigerated and used within the window your own protocol allows.

Where the line is, and why we hold it.

Can these be used on people or animals?: No. Everything we supply is for laboratory research only — not for human or veterinary consumption, injection, or diagnostic use. Ordering confirms you are a qualified researcher handling material in that context.
Do you give medical advice?: Never. We can tell you what published research reports and what a vial contains. We cannot advise on health, treatment or personal use, and our order assistant will not either.
What about the research figures on your listings?: They are summaries of published findings, cited so you can see where the number came from. They are not claims about what any individual would experience, and not a promise of any result.
Is my information private?: Your name, address and contact details are used to fulfil and support your order, nothing else. We do not sell customer data. Questions about your record can be sent through the contact page on this site.

Three ways an item can be listed, and how you pay.

What do In stock, Coming soon and Order request mean?: In stock ships from our facility in 1–2 business days. Coming soon can be reserved with a pre-order and ships the day it lands. Order request covers anything else in the catalog — you add it and place the order exactly like any other, and we take care of the rest.
Is an order request harder to place?: No. It is the same checkout, the same payment, no forms and no back and forth. The only difference is the timing.
How do I pay?: Venmo (@ktisispeptides) or Apple Pay. After you place the order, the confirmation page shows a button that opens Venmo with the amount and your order number already filled in, or the number to send Apple Cash to.
Do you take cards?: Not yet — Venmo and Apple Pay only for now.
Why is there an access code?: The catalog is restricted to researchers, so the code keeps pricing and compound details out of general web traffic.

Timing, tracking and changes.

How fast do in-stock orders ship?: They leave our facility within 1–2 business days of payment clearing.
How long does an order request take?: Longer than an in-stock vial, because it comes into our facility first for labeling and checks before it ships to you. We will keep the status current on your order the whole way.
How do I check where my order is?: Sign in and open your orders, or look one up with just your order number and email on the tracking page. The status updates as we move it from pending to shipped.
Something about my address or order is wrong.: Send us a message from the contact page with your order number as soon as you can, or ask the order assistant in the corner of any page. If it has not shipped yet we can still change it.
Do vials survive shipping without a cold pack?: Yes. Lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for the length of a normal transit, which is exactly why it ships dry.
